2007 is the redesign year for the CR-V. These vehicles will begin to arrive to dealers in September 2006. Honda currently has a prototype and a few spy photos have recently surfaced. From these photos it appears as if Honda is heading towards more of a crossover look for the new model. An EX model with leather interior option (EX-L) is now confirmed and a 10hp gain is expected.

2007 Colors
Borrego Beige Metallic
Glacier Blue Metallic
Green Tea Metallic
Tango Red Pearl

Anybody have some opinions of the current spy shots? There are several pretty heated threads at some other sites. It seems most people are against the current styling. While I prefer the more traditonal SUV look, I don't think the current spy shots are horrible looking. I'll reserve judgement until I see one in person.

I don't think they are so bad. The vehicle is well-proportioned from all angles in the spy shots. Just look at the new Mercedes SUVs if you want to see what could go wrong with SUV styling...they don't look cohesive at all. The back-ends don't "flow" in relation to the fronts. Similar problems with some of the Jeep and Dodge designs too. Lets not talk about GM.

As for utility, well... I bought a new V because of cargo capacity. One of the chief enablers of that is the tailgate mounted spare and the flip & fold seats. The Subarus and the 06 RAV don't have the room or flat floor like the V.

I saw the Acura RDX at the NY Auto Show, and the hidden spare & folding seatback has resulted in a higher cargo deck. Uh-oh.

I have never bought a CR-V primarily because of the rear door and external spare. If the Japanese model (Fullmark?) without the spare would have been available in the U.S., I probably would have bought one.

So, I'm anxiously awaiting the 2007. I want a small SUV or Crossover. May be able to stay with Honda after all. Great.:)
