question(s) for experts out there.

i'm thinking of adding LED side marker lights to my car. would this be a simple plug n plug kind of deal - meaning... just find a proper spot, ground the light(s) and tap into the parking lights or do i need to add something else to make the LED's work properly?

i know for turn signals, you need resistor to get the proper current for the led's and prevent the fast flashing and and blowing up your fuses.
what about for just marker lights or additional brake lights, you need to add resistor too?

Check out the M3 series @ http://www.superbrightleds.com/truck_lights.htm
They're 12v and have very minimal current draw. I put 3 of them on each side of my Superduty, directly wired into the parking light circuit. They have one power wire and are grounded by the mounting screw.

I've had them installed for about 3 1/2 years. Ran one 10ga wire down the drivers side then crossed over to the passenger side. Solder spliced the LED power wires, used liquid electrical tape, then regular electrical tape to protect the splices. Used 1/4" wire loom, cable ties and mounting bases (http://products3.3m.com/catalog/us/en001/utilities_telecom/oem_electrical/node_GSS1D7QRNRgs/root_GST1T4S9TCgv/vroot_GSHBRQT7DVge/bgel_GSJN43QNDSbl/gvel_P5Z145Q13Vgl/theme_us_oemeletrical_3_0/command_AbcPageHandler/output_html) to to secure the power wire.

Since we don't have our V yet, I'm not sure where you'd mount the lights? Do you have running boards or steps, otherwise is there a weld lip that runs below the doors?

I read your post again. I was thinking of turn signals I guess? No, you do not need the resistor for just plain old 12v lighting.

ya i'm planning to get LED's and add to my parking lights - not turn signals.

i'm thinking of actually adding LED's behind the front grill and maybe below the rear bumper, not the sides. but if i do get them, i wanna use those side marker LED's coz they're small/thin and compact in size

I am going to add some additional rear cargo area lighting, using LED's. It is kinda dark back there, especially with the dark charcoal colored carpet and panels.
