the heated mirrors that my plain jane, lower than whale dung on the ocean floor, scungi, junky 99 Plymouth Voyager had. (The wiper heaters were nice too.)

Why do only EX-L owners deserve what amounts to a basic safety feature? They are standard equipment in Canada. Why not in the US? I'll trade the moon roof for it.

I think the minimum these days is power folding door mirrors!

I agree, Black Pearl. Heated mirrors are great. And I wish we'd get the heated wipers. Even cheap Tucsons have them.

Hughesy. Power folding mirrors? You mean power mirrors that can be folded or mirrors that fold with a switch? If you mean the latter, don't think I would ever use that.

Yep. Mirrors that fold in with the press of a switch. They are not installed on North American cars as we have plenty of room compared to the narrow streets and garages of the typical European. It would be a nice feature though for people that routinely park on the street. A folded mirror won't "catch" a bicyclist.

power folding mirrors are a nice feature on a city vehicle.

As for the heated mirrors, I've noticed that most Honda mirrors aren't that large, and are designed in such a manner that they don't get much ice or water buildup on them (hell, I've yet to see anything on my V's mirrors in the morning, be it dew or rain).

I've never seen ice buildup on my Civic's mirrors in the 5 years I've owned it, and I used to live in Worcester, MA.

The reason they offer such a feature on a passenger van, is that dodge's mirrors are huge and almost vertical, which makes it hard to keep water and ice off of them.

As for window wiper heaters, dodge's windsheilds for vans get a ton of snow/ice buildup at the bottoms where the wipers are because of how sloped they are (i get a similar buildup once in a while on my Civic), but the CRV's window has a heat vent right below the wipers, so they should clear up pretty fast once the engine is warm.

The mirrors are larger. I have had dew that required several wipings with a paper towel and now frost. I don't like scraping the mirror because it seems fragile and I don't want to break the adjustment mechanism. I really miss the heated mirrors. It was a very nice feature.

More importantly, it looks cool when they fold in :)

Here's the switch for the folding mirrors (next to the L-R switch):
