Hello everyone; name is Austin and I just got my:

2000 Taffeta White CR-V EX, 4wd, 5spd a few days ago.
I've always been a long time honda fan; owned lots of swapped hatches back in the day, Integra's, CR-X's...etc and most recently a 2007 Civic Si Sedan. Priorities and an upcoming move led me to the CR-V (going from SoCal to Boulder). I think I got a pretty good deal, let me know what you all think.
This thing is BONE STOCK (exception of some rubber mats) w/55k miles.
The owner put brand new Firestones (factory size) on it 500 miles ago.

I paid $9k even for this car. Over the last 4 days I've performed the following:

- oil change/took 4 quarts of Mobil drive clean and a Mobil 1 oil filter
- valve adjustment (put exh on loose side and intake on tight side)
- Honda coolant replacement
- Honda PS fluid replacement
- ATE Superblue in clutch/brakes (full flush on both)
- adjusted e-brake
- set ign. timing
- NGK Blues are on the way
- NGK V-power's installed
- adjusted tire pressure
- set idle @ 750 rpm
- STP air filter from autozone (cheap paper filter)
- Bosch cabin filter (1/3 price of OEM one) replacement
- checked out all belts/hoses (this includes the timing belt which Im not going to replace; I will check it again at about 70k to see its condition)
- painted a few brackets and the heat shield with black ceramic high temp while I was waiting for the motor to cool for the valve adj.
- Honda Dual pump fluid change in diff
- Honda MTF type II fluid change in transaxle (shifts great!)

I think thats about it. Total investment with title transfer, fluids and car is $9,175. I will be needing some brakes soon; I would guess within the next 5k miles. The car is in desperate need of a good buff/clay bar/wax and it may need a new spare tire as its flat (though a simple air-up may fix it).

All in all I'm really happy with the purchase. My wife likes it too and she feels comfy driving it which is a big plus cause she did not like the Si (except for NAVI). Heres a few pics, I'd love some feedback!

Welcome to the forum. I'm partial to white myself and your V really looks great. Also sounds like your getting it off to a great start.:)

Thanks for the welcome. These seems like a pretty small community (at least on this board). I already ran into problem #1 with the V

Welcome!

Looks like you got a rare one - one with a manual tranny! Post some pics with your V in some neat California scenery in the background. We have members all over the world who would love to see them.

Thanks everyone, though those pics are a bit deceiving. We all know how distance + flash can make a lot of paint look nicer than it is. When I bought the car it looked as if it hadn't been washed in 6 months.

I have been working on the paint the last 2 days and will finish today; now it finally is starting to look like it did in the pictures up close! I did have a hard time finding a 5spd with low miles; but like anything time is always your friend. Two of my closest friends each have V's as well; one a 98 and the other a 00' (both auto) so I had plenty of time to understand the basic differences. Im really glad I ended up with white though. I would have taken any other color (side from silver) as long as things were met.
The white is REALLY easy to refurbish, take care of and block out chips, swirls, smudges, scratches...etc

I will be taking a trip up to Big Bear really soon; its only about 40 miles from me. I will definitely bring the Nikon along since they opened the ski lifts.

You will be happier in the long run that you got the higher powered 99-2001 and you will certainly see many V's in Boulder when you get there.
