2008 Rear console

I just bought a 2008 CRV LX and I noticed that when the rear center section is in the fully upright position, the center console is not really level, it slopes down somewhat from the back to the front. Is that the way it's supposed to be?

I am not too sure with the LX, but if you recline the rear seats a bit then the armrest should be level. If the seats are fully upright it wil uncomfortable to sit in. You have to recline them a bit to be comfortable.

Our '07 is the same way; get the outer seats in a comfortable angle and then set the center angle to make the armrest level when lowered...must be a reason they designed it that way but I can't fathom why..???

Economics; the same reason the front armrests don't adjust to different angles. Up or down vs some sort of adjusting device.
