Question! Black pearl brought up a point I have been meaning to ask about. Weight capacity in the V is 850 lb the E is 175 lb less at 675lb. The curb weight of the V is 3389lb and the E is 3433lb, that is just a 44lb deferent’s in curb weight. Based on the Numbers I got from Vehix.com Is it a heavier suspension in the V, or different shocks? Can you install better shocks on the E and increase weight capacity. If so what is recommended in new shocks?I put this question out on the EOC but no one seemed to have a answer.

but I thought it was odd that the E which is more utilitarian had a lesser load limit yet larger capacity in cubic feet. My guess is differences in the rear suspension.

Did the Element become a 4 passenger vehicle because of the load limit, or did the load limit get low because the Element was designed as a 4 passenger vehicle. (Verses 5 for the CRV).

Consider that the Element has a shorter wheel base, narrower track width, higher body height and smaller tires than the CR-V before deciding to increase the spring rate to carry heavier loads in a vehicle that would be more prone to rolling over if you get too much weight from the cargo up too high.
