View Full Version : 07 CRV Light Wiring - Towing behind Motorhome

Just finished installing the baseplate and now it is on to the light wiring. I'm going to be using an Even Brake, so decided to install a bulb kit rather than the diodes. I've already discovered there is very little space in the front for the wiring plug. I may be forced to install the Toad Receptacle under the license plate. Or I may just use a 4 wire connection and make it long enough to reach the Motorhome, leaving it coiled up under the hood when unhooked. Those details will work themselves out I think as I get closer.
What I'm looking for before I even look, is some input on anyone's do's and don'ts regarding how and where to run the wiring from the front to the rear. Inside? Outside? Any experience, suggestions, guidance would be appreciated

I don't have an answer to your question because I had a shop wire the light package with diodes on my CRV. If you don't get an answer here, I can check the vehicle for you but I assume that the wiring for diodes dose not require wiring to the back of the vehicle.
I have been looking for a way through the firewall to connect the breakaway to the brake buddy with not much luck.
How does the even brake work? Is it installed between the seat and the brake pedal? Does it need power from the vehicle?
I discovered that I will have to re-wire the power outlet to keep power on when I pull fuse #34, otherwise the brake buddy can't work - it needs power to run the compressor.

Yes the Brake Buddy sits in front of the front seat and an arm attaches to the brake peddle. It does plug into the auxillary and I have had my battery go dead because of it. I purchased a battery booster and I can use it to plug the Brake Buddy into, but would rather use the auxillary plug.

I`ve just installed the Roadmaster mount kit and wiring kit for towing my`07 CR-V.. My motorhome has combined brake/stop lights. I`ve installed the universal wiring kit according to the instructions, but get nothing to work. Anyone had these problems? Also read where someone has installed an extra bulb in the rear light panel. Seems would be a simplier method less the diodes.
TIA!
