From what I've read, it seems the stock Duelers are very unpopular. I've hit 24K on mine, and for the second time in as many weeks, one is mysteriously flat. The first I attributed to a slow leak since it was holding air cold, and by the time I got to Discount Tire a block away, it was completely flat.

Now its front mate seems to be pulling the same thing. Discount Tire isn't open on Sundays, but fortunately I have the spare, so I'll change it out and have the problem tire looked at Monday.

Aside from road noise, handling, etc., is there a trend of premature disintegration with the Duelers? It just seems that as soon as I hit 24K, they stopped holding air. Am I looking at having to replace them soon?

Sorry to hear you are having difficulties. I don't think you will find many fans of the Bridgestone Dueler here. However, I doubt that the tire simply disintegrates and refuses to hold air. What did the tire shop find on the first tire? Is the first tire holding up OK. You may be the victim of coincidence, not that I am defending the Dueler--it is a pretty crappy tire.

How are the tires wearing? We have another thread on poor wear. You may have to replace the tires soon due to wear.

It would be helpful if you filled out your location and the year and model of your V on your profile. Welcome to the club, and keep us posted on this problem.

I had a similar problem with one of my Deuller's losing air over few day period going from 32psi down to single digits. I had the tire off and looked for 15 minutes and couldn't find anything embedded in the tire. I finally took it to the dealer and they took the tire off the rim and saw a small nail through the tire, it was a tiny finishing nail that had pushed in between the sipes and was "invisible" from the exterior. Nail pulled and tire patched with no problems since and this was at 2,000 miles. It was my daughters fault driving through a new housing complex and picked this up from a construction site.

I think if you have good tread left just get it patched I am not a fan of Duelers but I always like to get all 4 tires changed do you really wan to scrap 3 good tires because one may have a small leak. Get the puncture looked at plugged and keep rolling until the tread wear is low I am also not a fan of mixing tires.

Ours lasted until about 40k miles, but it is mostly highway driving or very rural driving. City driving kills tires much quicker - it is the starts and stops that do it.

Still, it is a crappy tire. Go to tirerack.com and pick out something much better, for less money.
