My wife and I have Sirius and I've just put a Stiletto 2 into the wife's CR-V. The problem is that the S2's docking base FM transmitter is lousy compared to the Starmate. It gets lots of interference and even after going through the entire dial I only found two stations that worked acceptably well.

No problem, I thought. The CR-V has an AUX input! Problem is that the AUX input is in the center console between the seats.

What I'm looking for is one of the following:
1) How can I get an AUX input somewhere onto the front dash or glovebox so I don't have to run a wire into the center console between the seats?
2) Alternatively (easier) is there a way I can run the AUX line out of the center console between the seats without having the wire come out of the top? Can I drill somewhere maybe (I hate to do that!) The wire can run under the carpet and up the front of the dash but having the console box lid always partially open with a wire running out is unsightly.

Any other suggestions on how to get Sirius in a CR-V are welcome. I would love integrated Sirius with the nav system but not until (if) the merger goes through, I imagine.

Thanks.

This will do the trick if you are willing to spend the $$ and time to install it.

I am installing mine now. I am going to run the aux input wire under the carpet, up under the console. Also, am going to run direct power to the fuse box...

DaMaN, thanks but I've already got my wife a Stiletto. If we didn't have it I'd consider it. I wish I'd known about that before (I once asked the dudes at a local shop if it was possible and they said no) but honestly the Stiletto is probably better anyways.

garywi, how are you going to get the AUX line out of the central console? I have no problem running the wire up the front of the dash, but I can't stand having to leave the box lid open for the wire all the time.

Is there another AUX jack or only the one in the center between the seats?

I bought a starmate 4. I am going to mount it to the dash, just right of the steering wheel/key hole. There is a little punch out, where I will run the power and antenna and aux cable, behind the dash. I will run the aux cable under the carpet, making a small cut near the passenger seat. I have the ex with the disapointing flip down console. I will just epoxy some velcro or tie wraps underneath the console and run the cable up the back and plug in to the existing location. Then I can easily unplug when I need to use my ipod.

Hm... that sounds really cool. I still have the problem with the aux in the center console but how hard is it to run power and stuff behind the dash? I have no idea where I would even begin, but I'm fairly handy. :)
