As the title says, has anybody added the Gentex auto dimming rear view mirror with homelink to a '07 or '08 CR-V. If so how good does it work and was it very hard to install? Searched but could not find anything. These are two things I miss from my old car.

At College Hills Honda (http://www.collegehillshonda.com/), they have the instructions and a DIY video. I don't know if this has Homelink, but this should give you everything you need to know as far as what is involved in the installation. Hope this helps. Thanks.

The collegehillshonda one is the OEM mirror, it does not have homelink. Check out our sister site hondasuv and search for homelink.

I added the OEM auto day/night mirror with compass. Basically followed the instructions (which are available at College Hill Honda's web page). It took about 2 hours to install, taking my time. Since the home link version is not OEM you'd have to tie into the fuse box and you'll also need to get a replacement clip for the A pillar cover, since the clip has to be broken to remove the cover.
