Alright i have believe i have figured out how to get the dash in my 00-V blue, however the problem lies in talking the dash apart. Has anyone ever had to do this in the Gen 1? Im looking at replacing the lights in there with blue LED's but i have no idea where to start.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Mike

MikeThe clearest illustrated diagrams are at slhondaparts.com. Just drill thru the menu choices.

Or, locate a seller of the Indiglo gauge sets and download their install instructions.

Hmm. I tried to replace some instrument lighting (a digital wallclock for instance) with blue leds before, and the pure blue led output is a bit annoying, the eyes have problem focusing without any red or green light...
Check so you don't get stuck with something you wouldn't like.

(Are there any "light blue" leds?)

I've removed my dash several times to hardwire my radar detector. I am going to tell you how to take off the entire dash, if you get confused just go to those sites. go beneath the storage containor. There is a piece of plastic where if you yank on the side it will pop off. Behind that on the bottom are screw which you take out. After those bottom screws open the storage flap and take out the screws in the top and bottom (make sure the whole piece doesn't fall out) Open up the glove box. There are clips on bothsides which you pinch the two tabs and push into the glove box. Once you do that the glove box will be able to completly go down exposing two screws on the left and right side. Then move over to the driver side and there will be screws exposed now that the rest is off. Keep in mind that most of the plastics are pop ins and will take a little muscle to get them out. Thats as far as I've gone, I haven't started to play around with the upper half of the dash. Hope this helps

This page:

97-01 Honda CRV Radio Removal (http://www.installerworld.com/Instructions/00HVR.htm)

Helped me out greatly with the installation of my head unit into a '97 V. I was able to remove the factory deck without concerns. Patience paid off but all in all it was a virtually pain-free removal and reinstall.
