255's too wide?

I want 255/55 on 18x8 with approx 45mm offset? anyone confirm if it would work. How about 255/45 and a set of lowering springs? 2007 exl 4wd

The 2007/2008 CR-V is ok:d by the Swedish road authority with the following dimensions:

225/65R17 101 T with rims of 17 X 6 1/2J 50
225/60R18 100H
245/45R19 98Y
Alternative rim dimensions 18 x 7J or 19 x 7 1/2J

So I guess that doesn't really answer your question if 255's are ok...
Btw, Honda sells original rims to these dimensions.

I've got 245/35/20 and 275/30/20 38 offset.:D On 20 x 8j 38

And it fit easy.
