The turn signals on my 1999 CR-V won't cancel. I've already checked and replaced the turn signal switch, and that isn't the problem. What part under the steering wheel needs replacing?

The turn signals wouldn't cancel because the teeth had broken off on a two-piece nylon assembly under the steering wheel. I disconnected the air bag (a star socket is required, a set from Auto Zone was $14) and removed it, then pulled the steering wheel (using a $10 steering wheel puller and two metric bolts from Home Depot) and installed the replacement assembly. It was about $50, as I recall. Helpful hint: the two-piece plastic surround for the steering column can be a pain. You will drastically shorten the repair time if you screw the bottom piece back into place before snapping the top piece onto it.
