Subaru Forester: first official images [1.3.8]

Subaru has released the first official images of the Forester, which will go on sale in the UK this spring.

The Nissan X-Trail and Honda CR-V rival is based on the new Impreza platform.

It looks like it is sitting higher than the previous generation. It looks a bit more aggressive than before. We'll see. Thanks for posting this.

it looks a bit like someone crossbred a Ford Edge with a 3rd Gen CR-V and threw a bit of older Rav4 on the roof line. Is it a chick car though?

Looks alright at least subaru is making it a proper looking SUV but personally I find their range uglier than the new BMW range. The cars are ugly generic looking and their rally models look to rice. If you are going to have an ugly car make it interesting nothing is worse than a boring design.

The newly redesigned Forester looks good, but I'm not sure that three Forester problems have been solved:
*chattering clutch
*head gasket failure
*rear wheel bearing failure

I was seriously considering buying one to supplement our '98 Forester but will buy an '08/'09 CR-V instead, even though it's not available with a stick-shift( We'll keep our Forester as a "beater car" and sell my beloved '89 Acura Integra (160K miles) to make room for the new CR-V. I look forward to comparing off-road and snow performance between the CR-V and Forester 'cause "everyone" says the Forester's AWD system is better. We'll see.
