Does anyone know if there is an air induction kit available to fit the iVTEC 2.0 CRV engine (2004 model)? I've scoured the web for such a thing but to date have found none.

Thanks,

GDog

you can make your own for pretty cheap. When I made mine I just used the CAI from my old ITR. I had to dent and cut the pipe in some places to make it fit but its not hard. Or with a simple google search I have found these.

Be carefull when selecting and air filter. I was going to use a simular oil type cotton cleaner on my Caterpillar engine in my motorhome. After confering with the Cat factory, they convinced me to stay with the dry paper fileters because the did a better job at cleaning the air. Also Cat's warranty may be in jepordy if I used filters other than they recommended.
The manufacturer of the OEM filter had all kinds of data as to how good their fileters are, but they never could show in a meaningfull way as how had better air filtration as apposed to reduced flow restriction. Diesel engines are more sensitive to clean air and fuel, but I will stick with the factory recomendations.

You are comparing 2 completely different engines and manufacturers. I have ran the cone air filters on all my cars and have never had a problem. Also, of course CAT is gonna tell you to stick with the paper filters because they want to keep selling them to you and every dealer I have worked for always have the employees tell customers modification voids warranty.

but--- CAT does not sell the filter I use and Frieghtliner also supports CAT's claim. Paper filters filter better than the cotton oiled filters that is being marketed here. Just cuz you have had no problem does not mean the ones you are useing are better. Banks which uses air induction methods uses a paper filter and they get reasonable HP gains for both gas and diesel engines.
From my experience with CAT, when ever they claim something threatens their warranty, they have been supported with facts and are within the laws. In other words they are a very reputable mfg-- as well as the other major players.

I never said they were better and I never said CAT wasn't a reputable manufacturer. All I was saying that you were comparing 2 completely different engine (Gasoline and Diesel) and 2 different manufacturers Honda and Catepillar.

Both Amsoil and AEM make nanofiber technology filters that promise similar flow rates as K&N and similar filters.
The beauty is they don't use oil. Knowing the right amount of oil is important, and even then there have been cases of oil fouling the air flow sensor.
These filters can be cleaned periodically and have long life.
Amsoil make most direct replacement panel filters, and AEM makes a variety of cone filters to fit various after market air intake systems.
I would highly recommend these over K&N.

A turbo diesel creates one hell of a sucking action upon an air filter. The reason CAT (and Cummins for that matter), don't like them is that the aftermarket ones are not rigid enough to withstand flexing and they allow unfiltered air in from the sides of the air filter. Dirty air and tubos don't mix well, for very long. I would not use the Amsoil stuff either. The vast majority of Amsoil supporters are those that sell it. While they may make a good product, that marketing aspect alone turns me off to them real quick.

Amsoil are decent filters, I keep one in my car for emergency purposes, I have had some cone filters come off the pipe before. After researching and investigating found it to be from heat.

Hi Gdog,
[INDENT]have you found a air induction kit for your CRV, I have a 2004 2000 iVECT that's great but could do with a little more performance

Cheers

Do you know the part name or part number for the Amsoil & AEM filter for a 2007 CR-V by chance?

Not off the top of my head but a simple google search or going to either website should get you your answer.
