Hello,

Here are some pictures of my brand new 2008 CR-V (Whistler Silver). As you can see from the first shot, the weather wasn' kind enough for some dazzling outdoors scenery (ice rain and snow)...

For all of you non-european CR-V owners, the "Elegance" package is something inbetween EX and EX-L, but with some cool additional extras thrown in for good measure (like integrated turn indicators in the side mirrors, automatic lights, electric foldable mirrors and automatic wipers). The "Sun and Light" package consists of a dual panoramic glass roof (seen on picture 2) and HID lights.

I like the panoramic moonroof/sunroof. European models are couple of years ahead of the US models, I think. Thank you for posting pictures. Excellent choice for color! ;)

Could anyone in Southern Arizona image what that cool panoramic sunroof would be like?

Still, I would love one where I live. Next best thing to a convertible.
The Europeans get all the cool options and accessories, but they sure pay the price for them!

Yup... but no, the hubris is not mine. Swedish license numbers consist of three letters and three digits, the letters going from AAA to ZZZ. The Y-series hasn't been opened up yet (we're still on X), but now the responsible authorities realized that they're rapidly running out of available numbers, so they started recycling old registration numbers.

We sure do - for a mid-level CR-V we pay as much as you guys for a full-blown Acura MDX. Not fair. ;)

Does you 'V have the Automatic Cruise Control? I want that! I need to find some place that will ship the parts to the US and see if I couldnt get that working on my 08 EX-L Navi.

No, it is just the standard CC. Here in Sweden, the trim package with the Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Mitigating Braking System and Active Front Lighting System costs a bit above 53 000 USD. And if you think that's expensive, try Norway - the same version costs 86 000 USD. No kidding.

One thing I have liked about the CR-V here in the US was the actual absence of gismos and gadgets. Electronics are always the first thing to go on a car and in my humble opinion the fewer electronics the better. Just look at the new offerings from Ford, GM and Chrysler. Every car full of gizmos. Not a one of them will last past 10 years without the electronics breaking.

IMHO

Exactly...but why wait 10 years! We had a 1999 Olds minivan that the transmission went out at 500 miles (replaced under warranty) and countless gremlins with all the electrical gizmos from day one until the day we donated it.

The funniest one was when my wife pulled into the garage and the security system went off (horns beeping and lights flashing) and the doors mysteriously locked and wouldn't let her exit the car. She hit every button on the FOB and still nothing...she had to call me at work to ask what to do!
She had to drive it to the dealership in this condition with all that going on and when she got to the dealership...they COULDN'T reproduce it! Reproduce it I said, hell you saw it happen!!!!

Thanks, the avatar does represent the lion in my family coat of arms. It is from the movie Narnia and depicts Aslan who represents Jesus who is also known as the Lion of Judah. :D

AMEN....I traded my Ford Taurus with 73,000 miles for a CRV with 145,000 miles and the CRV is in much better condition than the Ford. It was a terrible car. I replaced window motors, seatbelt systems, starter motor, sensors, and a head gasket. When I traded it in the anti lock brakes light was on, the dash was separating, and the check engine light came on on the way to the dealership. The transmission was also about to go out. I was very happy to be rid of it and I will never buy another.
