Does anybody installed factory fog lights?
I have refused to pay dealer almost $300 to have it added to my new car - it should not be that hard.

I just bought a brand new OEM foglights from craigslist for $100.00. I'm thinking of installing them myself....I don't think it's that hard. My dealer would charge me about 300 bucks also to have it installed by them. Quite a rip off, if you ask me....

Let us know how it turns out. I think it is a bit more involved than I would like.

Take a look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9jaC8Q0tsw
It will at least give you an idea of what the installation requires. Good luck if you decide to do it.:)

Click on the link for fog lights - you can play as Windows Media player.
Install is time consuming, but not that hard.

I have just seen a price for fog lights installed in honda e-store and they are $467.50 installed - quite a bit of a difference from what I have been quoted by dealers when car shopping (the most they have asked $800- needless to say I did not do business with this dealer- That is what I call "bent over" experience.)

Granted I could have saved money by DIY but I took that price to my local dealer and he did the work for that price.
I purchased the OEM Fog Lights from H and A Accessories, and watched the college hills honda video. That video over simplifies the installation process to say the least.
It took me about 3.5hrs to do the fog light install between comparing what was in the video with the written instructions. Im a very technical and thorough guy so YMMV. The scariest thing was patching the harness wires into the fuse block harness.
Having done it once now i could probably repeat it in about 2.5hrs, since I spent a lot of time triple checking every little move i was making.

As jalo mentioned it will take about 3.5-4 hrs first time out. What I found to be the most difficult was getting to the harness connector under the front bumper cover. Once I found it, I could barely get my hand to it to make the connection. it was also a little unnerving knowing how hard to pull on the front bumper cover to disengage it from the clips under the headlights and how hard to smack the A-pillar trim to disengage it. Over all not bad, take your time, don't rush the install. I also installed the Auto-Dimming rear view mirror at the same time so things went a little slower.

I installed a set I bought on e-bay($70), that didn't even come with directions. Same 3.5 hours. Pulling the bumper off was the trick, once I stared and pryed.
Does anyone have the wiring diagram for the OEM dashboard switch? It has five wires. My after market has only four, but I would like to use the OEM since it fits in the dash hole perfectly. The aftermarket one does not.
