If you're leaning toward a Honda CR-V or Toyota RAV4, don't bother with a Liberty. It won't seem genteel and refined enough.

But if you want a true off-roader, not just a foul-weather four-wheeler, Liberty might be just so.

I dunno, man. for what the V is, I find it fantastic for offroad. I drive up and down a mountain to teach snowboarding 6 days a week through dumps of snow, sheer ice, fog thicker than pea soup, you name it, and it has always come through. oh yea and hoping curbs are easy peasy.

I think the newer ones are not as stout as older CR-Vs. Older models are probably more rugged than the newer ones in my opinion. Healey is probably right in saying that.
