I am appalled - simply flabbergasted. It is time to renew my plates and on my registration it lists the CR-V as a STATION WAGON!!!!! I am disgusted with the state of Illinois right now - can they not see that this 30 something year old woman does not and will not drive a station wagon - the very thought. So, what do other states call them - obviously Illinois is dead wrong!

Think back to cars from the 60's and 70's and what they looked like, then update them, mentally... I could see "mini-van" used with the 2007/2008's though. Making it a lift-back and getting rid of the spare tire on the back and all...

Isn't the Land Rover defender considered a Station Wagon.

That "station wagon" thing also probably results in lower insurance rates...

My PA registration lists my '02 CRV as a sport wagon. I'll have to double-check when my wife gets home but I think her '05 Pilot is listed the same way. Go figure.

It's a station wagon because It's a low center Cross-over. Honda made sure to put a lot of the elctronics and equipment very low on the vehicle to make the center of gravity lower - making it more like a car, instead of an SUV -that and it doesn't have a trunk, just a hatch - making it a station wagon in California. Station wagons aren't bad. Some of them are pretty hot:

Subaru WRX:

Honda Accord:

And an internet Cookie to anyone who can figure out what this is a station wagon version of:
I'll give you a hint... it's itallian, and it's expensive, and I know waht it is...:D

Same thing they called my Plymouth mini van. I suppose one could get upset over such lowly taxonomy, but if that keeps it in a cheaper registration category then, hell, call it a wheel barrow.

Speaking of cool station wagons:

Damn I am showing my age.

Who said those cars STILL aren't cool. They're still some of the best IMO. We have a rusted nomad sitting in front of my shop begging to be fixed. anyone figure out the bottom picture yet?
