I just recently bougnt a '99 CR-V EX and it has 205/70R15 BF Goodrich Premium Touring tires. They have the green tire pressure nipples on them, so I assume they have the nitrogen air pumped in them, since I don't know the vehicle history. I checked the tire pressure all around and they were 23 psi. Is that the right amount of air pressure needed? If I need to add air into them in the future, can I just add compressed air to it? Also, it veers to the left just a little bit when I drive it. Would an alignment be necessary, or would it be okay to leave it?

if it veers just a little bit it could just be the camber of the road find a road that is completly flat and see if it still dose it if so than yes you will need wheel alignment

Welcome to the forum. Please fill out your forum profile so that we know a little more about you and your V. To start with, which side of the road do you drive on?

23 psi seems a little low. My 06 recommends 29 and most members run their tires at more like 32 psi. If your V wallows a little or seems unresponsive in corners, your low tire pressure may be the reason.

You need not be rigorous about the nitrogen vs plain air. Plain air is nearly 80% nitrogen anyway. A simple search of the forum (use the search function and enter "nitrogen") will bring up multiple threads on this subject that might be of interest.

So I filled each tire to 30 psi and it seems to handle a little better. I try to stay in the middle of my lane, and it still seems to veer off a little to the left still. I plan on getting an alignment so I can save some tires. Thanks for all the input.

Check the owners manual for the proper pressure and maintain that pressure. There is a relationship between the tires load carrying capabilities and tire pressure (just ask Ford and Firestone). Get the car aligned and rotate. Considering the age of the vehicle, don't take it to some 15 minute alignment shop. They may miss worn components that can contribute to what you are describing. Take it to a company that specializes in suspension and alignment or the dealer. Do tell them about the issue.
