So I hear that I can use civic ek hood dampeners on my 98 crv. anyone want to confirm this. It def looks like it will work after staring at an ek for ten years, but if anyone else on here has done it, a confirmation would be great before I order the tein hood dampeners.

If thats true, I want some too!
Its probably possible, but you'd have to guess no how much pressure to keep once you get them to hold up the lid. It will be different for a CRV hood vs a Civic hood.

stock to stock, it's close enough for the teins. NRG makes hood dampeners for carbon hoods, so less push/pressure, and password jdm has adjustable pressure hood dampeners

Reading the description for the NRG dampers i would think that it means they have a carbon fibre finish instead of polished...not that they are for a carbon fibre hood only.

nrg has both types. Yes they have a carbon finish, but they make 2 different shocks. You have to order it according to if you have a stck metal hood or a carbon hood regardless of what finish of dampener you order. I have been dealing with the nrg guys direct since the company came out. I have also been modifying/bulding drag/show cars ect for ten years, and I am a mecp installer by day.
I'm not being a dick btw, just letting everyone know a little about me since I'm new to this site. I have only been a part of forums for 5 years. You can also check out my web site at Mid Atlantic Mega Meet (http://www.megameet.org) That is the local meet, and shows I organize.
