Auto locking doors - UK CRV 2008
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi - I have seen mention about setting the doors to "auto" lock when driving.
Does anyone know if this facility can be turned on on the UK CRV?
Thanks
Thought I might copy the post into the euro thread to see if any one can help

As far as I know, this feature is only available in NA models. It is definitely not available in Swedish models (they are manufactured at the Swindon plant in the UK).

Don't know if this will help (as I haven't got a CRV yet to try it out on...)
Auto Lock is not a standard feature on the Civic either, but some clever owners worked out how to turn it on :D
Unfortunately, Honda got wind of this, and 'properly' disabled it in the '07 Civic spec.
Might be worth a try though :)
Please note! we think that one of the reasons Honda stopped it in '07 is that the doors might not auto unlock in the event of an accident (which could obviously be an issue), so please be aware of this is the below does work, and carry it out at your own risk :)
To enable and disable Auto Locking and Auto unlocking in an 8th gen UK Spec Civic
To turn on auto-locking at 10mph (16kph)
- Close the driver's door
- Put the key into position II
- Hold down the door lock button (in the door) until you hear two sets of "locking" noises. This takes about 6 seconds**.
- Turn the key back to position I
To turn on auto-unlocking when turning off the ignition
- Close the driver's door
- Put the key into position II
- Hold down the door unlock button until you hear two sets of "unlocking" noises. This takes about 6 seconds**.
- Turn the key back to position I
To turn off auto-locking at 10mph (16kph)
- Open the driver's door
- Put the key into position II
- Hold down the door lock button until you hear two sets of "locking" noises. This takes about 6 seconds**.
- Turn the key back to position I
To turn off auto-unlocking when turning off the ignition

- Put the key into position II
- Hold down the door unlock button until you hear two sets of "unlocking" noises. This takes about 6 seconds**.
- Turn the key back to position I
**When you press the button you will hear the door locks activate right away. Keep the button pressed until you hear the same noise again, this should be around 6 or 7 seconds.
And please note this is carried out at the owner's risk!

Thank you for the detailed description! Unfortunately it doesn't work for our European models, where this function is disabled. Maybe because autolock could make it more difficult to rescue an unconscious and injured driver in case of an accident, and that Honda regards carjacking as a less likely scenario here i Europe than in other markets? Or maybe because it interferes with some other gadgetry inside the door? What do I know.
