What in the world is part # 8 ??? Does it really serve a purpose??
Thinnking about moving the stock muffler to that position...then running duals on out...

That is the exhaust resonator.
I borrowed this from another fourm to give a quick idea what it is for.
An exhaust resonator is used in some exhaust stystems to change the tone and timber of the exhaust sound. The resonator helps reduce the annoying vibrations of exhaust gas pulses with a length of perforated tubing inside an expansion chamber. The exhaust gasses partially escape the tubing diameter through the perforations into the expansion chamber. In the expansion chamber, the exhaust gasses expand and change tone. When the gasses re-enter the tubing, they rejoin the exhaust flow and dampen the vibrations of the combined flow, creating a more pleasing sound.

yep,its a resonator. I took mine off long time ago. You cant fit a stock muffler or aftermaket one there.
Dont do duals. U will lose so much HP.

guess I have to ask...
Won't fit there ?? What did you replace yours with?
Lose HP with duals...????

Yep, in the case of output flow, the more isn't necessarily the merrier. Hondas like back-pressure, and so should you if you like low-end torque. ;)
