would anyone please conviced me that i made the right choice. iam new to honda and just purchase a cr-v 2008. The display states 26 mpg on my commute 80 miles roundtrip. I have logged 550 miles. I thought about purchasing a toyota puris but for some strange reason I bought a cr-v.

thank you,

Is your V not living up to your expectations? Tell us what you do expect and maybe we can give you some guidance as to how realistic your expectations are. Maybe we can help make your V a better match.

If your expectations are primarily gas mileage related, 550 miles is not even a start on break in. You will not see real fuel efficiency until your V is fully broken in and that could be as much as 8k to 10k. Be advised, however, that a CR-V is not a Prius hybrid (48/45/46 mpg).

What?

You're comparing apples and oranges here. The CRV is a solid vehicle and good on gas for a small SUV but it will never be a Prius on fuel economy any more than you could ever pack as much baggage in the back of a Prius.

I'm happy with my CRV. I purchased an 08 EX AWD model. I've been avgeraging around 21 mpg(mixed city/highway). As I stated in another thread, I am a little disappointed with that figure. I was expecting better. Other than that though, I am extremely happy. The CRV is very comfortable and it includes all of the options I would want in another car + more. I think the power is more than enough.

We go camping quite often, and our first camping trip of the year will be in a couple months. I'm very excited about packing the CRV up and hitting the road. It will be nice to go camping in something other than my 1997 Ford Escort or my fiancee's TSX.
