View Full Version : Auto upholstery in Toronto?
I am looking for an upholostery shop to install leather skins on my CRV. Does anyone know of a place that does decent work and is not crazy expensive? It looks like a 1 or 2 day job for someone who knows how to do this. I received an astronomical quote from a body shop that was recommended today. There is no sewing involved, the kit I purchased online has all of the zippers and plastic tabs.
Thanks in advance.

If installing skins, it is not an entire 2 or even 1 day job for an upholstery shop! Did you visit there in person with the skins? Are they suggesting new foam, etc, as well? How much did they quote you?
The guy told me over the phone $850!
He said it would be "at least a week of work" ???
Thanks for the welcome, I just got my CRV about a month ago - had an Accord before but it was totalled. I'm thrilled to not be driving a 'bathtub' anymore ;)
cheers

cheersTake the V in with the skins and let them see it. The price should drop considerably. It is less than a one day job if the skins are a proper fit.
I will do that as soon as I find a shop closer to my work - do you happen to know of any places downtown in Toronto?
:)
Thanks

I am in the US - in Illinois... Been to Toronto many times and the wife has a cousin there, but I sure don't know of any upholstery shops... ;)

What part of Toronto are you in? I can make a couple calls and see what i come up with.
I work downtown in the Queen St. W (east of Dufferin) area. This would be the easiest during the week.
Thanks for your help.

Aha. You updated your profile. You have an 04. Do the new skins have cutouts for the side air bags?
