Just want to check with the 2007-2008 owners who had installed the class 1 hitch whether it is as easy as the instructions shown online:

Hidden Hitch Class I Trailer Hitch Receiver with Drawbar 60869 : Trailer hitch bike rack and trailer hitches - etrailer.com (http://www.etrailer.com/pc-H~60869.htm?vehicleid=20089015)

I think the only difficult part is to file the two holes in the frame to a bigger one so the rectangular washer can go in. I guess I could use a jack to support the lowered bumper.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance.I think that you will find that people want and like the class 2.5 and 3 hitches with a 2" receiver much better. If you want to have more than 1 bike or 500 pounds towed, don't get a class 1 hitch.

Thanks for the advice. I will only use it to carry at most two bikes (one being a road bike.) I think even with the rack itself I won't exceed the 200 lbs tongue weight limit by a big margin and I am not planning to tow anything else. the reason I am considering the 1 1/4" is that I don't want to have a big tow hitch under the bumper...

You might find that the Curt 2" hitch fits closer to the bumper than the OEM 1 1/4 does and is stronger... and is probably cheaper as well. Check out etrailer.com -- 07 Curt hitch is $154.

I recently installed a Class III receiver from etrailer.com.

Valley #V82163 $99.95
Wiring harness #118427 (plugs right into Honda connector) $29.95
1-7/8" hitch ball #19260 $7.95
Ballmount #2753, 6,000 lbs., 2-3/4" rise or 4" drop $18.95
Shipping, free if over $150 $0

Total $161.79

The receiver install is a cinch (now that I have the experience). Pry the 2 muffler tangs out of the rubber hanger and let it hang. I then used a drift punch and a pry bar to line up the bolt holes of the receiver to the existing threaded holes in the Honda chassis. There is also a bolt that goes thru the tow loop. Could do it in a half hour now. Spent prox 1-1/2 hrs when I was green. I'm very happy with the results.

The trick is to hang the hitch from the tow hook first, then all the weight is on the car while you line up the mounting bolts.
