Wonder if a turbo charger from the RDX would fit on a CRV? I don't want one because I like the gas mileage of the CRV. Acura EPA rating is 17/22/19 while the CRV is 20/26/22. Not only that, but if I had the turbo I would probably drive it harder.

I don't know if the turbo would fit, however, fuel economy may not be as severly effected. If you drive in a careful manner the turbo will just cause the fuel to burn more efficiently (I forgot why). THe RDX may weigh more be less aerodynamic or have changes in the ECU or different VVT to give it a sportier edge you have to figure an RDX is a luxury car and luxury buyers care more about overall drive than fuel economy.

Like 2redv mentioned about parts needed, the ecu tuning can be quite tricky. The good old days of a chipped p28 and lets go with backyard boost are over. Plus turbo engines enjoy premium gas and at $3.50 and up per gallon really adds up.

Here's another setback about turbocharging your 1st gen. The turbo manifold would have to be rather small and curve the right way. I'm not sure what other Honda/Acura manifolds will work (though there is one I know for sure). Once you get that, you may or may not be able to keep your power steering, and you may need a slimmer radiator. Its funny because the CRV has a lot of space just not in the areas for turbo placement.

If you have a manual V, you can swap your ECU for a chipped p28. Tuning will be essential and vital to your engine life though.

These people were talking about "B" series engines in First Generation CR-Vs.

I have seen a 2nd gen V with a turbo or a supercharger I wasn't sure it was on some car website where you post your ride but this thing was highly modified the whole interior, tranny, and suspension was changed the money this guy was dropping into his car you could put a Volkswagen W8 engine in which would be much better than a turboed 4 pop.

I would do it to my V but It is an automatic and it doesn't have the regular tranny in it because my mom drove over the center median with it. why didn't she take her suburban that day it would have even been fased.

But anyway my new tranny likes to stay in gear longer so I do get quite a bit more of torque in the lower gears. Funny thing the shop that was doing tranny work for mine also was doing it on two other Vs but they were 4WD. Are the trannys for the FWD and the 4WD so different could I have gotten the wrong one?

I don't think that they Trannys would convert over but I do have more power in the lower gears now.

I would like a turbo but for now I guess that I will wait. A college student without a job shouldn't spend 5Gs on his car.

You still haven't provided a LINK and is it for just the G3 CR-V or is it for the K20 in the RSX? If it is for the RSX it will NOT be a simple bolt on kit. Don't forget you will need to tune it after installation.
