What kind of tires should I be using for trails, beach sand and on Road?
I will mostly be using the CRV on the beach for surf fishing, dirt trails and on road.

For use in the snow go for thinner tires.
If you plan to drive on off road trails where you will encounter mud go for thicker tires.
Consider an MT or AT rated tire. An MT rated tire will do very well on muddy trails but beware that MT tires generally do poorly in icy conditions. An AT rated tire will do well on sandy, dirt and slightly rocky terrains as well as on road.

I've reserved commenting on posts like this until I had a bit of life on the new tires I just got.
Now that I have been on them for about a month, I can recommend them confidently.
I got the Scorpions installed at the stock tire size of 205/70/15
The "Tire Rack" reviews basically speak for themselves at:
Pirelli Scorpion ATR (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Pirelli&tireModel=Scorpion+ATR)
But I can concur that this set of rubber is absolutely amazing. I've had these on sand, rock, mud, highway and haven't had any problems. I was warned that doing more highway than offroad will decrease the tire tread MUCH faster on these tires. That was a problem I was willing to deal with given what I TRULY like to do with my V.
