Has anyone else had their bridgestone oem tires wear out at 20k miles. I was told that oem tires do not come with a warranty. Have there been other issues out there? It pisses me off to have to buy tires on a practically new car! Any suggestions on type of tire that does well with this car?

Thanks

I hear your pain...a 360 treadwear tire is at best a 30k tire. With that said I had mine replaced at 26,000 miles and love the ride of my new Cooper CS4's. Had we been in the spring\summer months I would have worn them down (OEM's) a bit more but the winter handling was getting pretty poor. I had never had to replace tires on a new car in 14 months before!

I was considering the CS4's as well on my 01' CRV but went w/ the Yokahama Avid TRZ's because the dealer was having a sale. ($340 Installed OTD for the stock size tire.) The TRZ's are wonderful tires. They are quiet and handle very well and inspire total confidence. I'm sure the CS4's are just as good as well. Regards, Bill.

It seems to be common with OEM tires - I just replaced tires in my caddy at 24k
Guy in tire shop told me that very often tires installed by manufacturer are not the same quality as one sold as aftermarket (same name and brand)
They are made of cheaper compounds to save cost and meet target price from manufacturers.
I am not sure if all of that is true, but I am dealing pretty much daily with Tier 1 and 2 companies and that what is happening more often that as customer I would like to see.

The rate at wich the OEM tires wear is ridiculous. I'm looking into the Michelin Cross Terrain or Bridgestone H/L Alenza.

I think it is a waste of time. You will end up with another set of crappy tires and pay some riduculous pro-rated fee at best.

There was another thread on this a while back:

The Bridgestones on my 2003 wore out at ~12,000 miles.

I do drive a lot more aggressive than others but I was happy that they did so I could replace them with better rubber.
