Hi All
I am newbie on this forum.
I am planning to purchase 2008 cr-v ex-l awd with navi.
I was quoted 26625 for it and for adding accessories and this is the price i was quoted(with labor);
remote start; 872
fog lights: 548
floor mats: 172
cargo tray: 133
rear armrest: 99
extended warranty (60mo/100K): 1400
I checked online and the pricing are a lot less than what he is offering.
Should I purchase warranty from internet like sagucci honda?

I appreciate all answers

You should purchase warranty ASAP as there is a possibility that the extended warranties will not be available on-line very soon. Source: edmunds.com, prices paid forums search extended warranties honda

As for the accessories, hondaautomotiveparts.com has the best prices with minimal shipping costs. It does not cost the dealer much to install mats, the cargo tray nor the rear armrest. It probably took me 10 minutes to 'install' those accessoires. All-weather mats are around 100 dollars, rear armrest around 50 dollars, cargo tray around 75 dollars. You will not pay tax unless you are from RI and you will pay around 25 dollars for shipping and handling.

As for the fog lights, it took me around 2 hours to install, 1.5 hours on the second time. The fog lights are available on-line for 200 dollars, so that is another 350 dollars of labour (profit). It is up to you how handy you are. Youtube has some videos on how to install them. Pretty straight forward.

NB the remote start is a pretty intensive install, I would have that installed at the dealer, because it would come with a year warranty.

You might try clicking on the H&A icon at the top of this page. They are forum sponsors and they offer forum members a discount on accessories. They also offer specials to forum members on occasion. :)

As the others have said, go with ordering the accessories online. You will save a lot of money. I ordered the roof rack, rear cargo tray, all weather floor mats and cargo net from Genuine Honda Accessories, News, and Information from College Hills Honda (http://www.collegehillshonda.com). I have also ordered oil filters from H&A and have received good service and pricing from them as well.

JamesWelcome to the forum! :)

I assume that you are in the US? Please fill out your profile, with your location as it helps people to help you.

To save on shipping, buy the accessories on-line from the dealer that is closer to you. However, one of the forum sponsors - H and A - is a superb business. Top notch products and service.

I called the dealer closest to my house and said I was looking for some accessories for my new CRV. I inquired about whether they discounted their parts and he said they usually send out a 20% off coupon for accesories to their new car customers but that he would offer me the same discount even though I bought my CRV at a competing dealership. We talked further and the H&A site came up and he told me he was working on his own site and that he had room to work with on the prices. In the end; the total price he quoted was pretty much the same as H&A and I don't have to wait if it is in stock.

My point? Talk to your dealer first; they want your business. In my case, it might of been easier to negotiate because there are many dealerships in Houston. Even if there is one dealership in your area ; let them know they are in competition with H&A for your business and they may be willing to haggle.

Hi all, my wife and I just bought an '08 CR-V EX-L 4WD w/nav. As is the case just about everywhere, the dealer wants way too much for accessories. Thanks for the tip about HondaAutomotiveParts.com (http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com). Prices there look good. Do the accessories for the '07 CR-V also fit on the '08? I know they look the same but sometimes the manufacturer makes subtle changes between model years that impact correct fitment of accessories. We're looking at adding a tailgate spoiler, fog lights, running boards, door visors, hood deflector and body side moldings. Thanks.

Why paid $872 for factory remote start when you can get the Viper 5900ST installed for around $500? The viper offer MUCH better range and so reliable if install by authorized Viper dealer).

I had the Viper 791VX installed on 02 4Runner (6 years ago), 06 Tacoma (3 years ago) and my wife's 08 CRV (last month). Never had any problem whatsoever.

Also, I bought the Genuine CRV foglight at ebay at $210 shipped, my local mobile electronics shop intalled it for $120 (I showed them the foglight install instruction and they said piece of cake).

Here is what I have done so far on the CRV:
2008 White CRV LX AWD
17x7 Sport Edition D5 wheels from the Tire Rack ( retain LX TPMS sensors with strap Kit, installed at America Tire)
Viper 791XV Remote start
PIAA Xtreme white plus H4 (headlights)
Genuine Factory Fog lights
5% tint rear 5 windows and 70% tint front tow
Roof Bars
Front mud guards
RubberTite Cargo Liners
