Has anyone purchased these chrome rim skins for CR-V LX 2007?
You can look in ebay for a better description, the Ebay keyword is "'07 Up Honda CR-V Chrome Skins for 17" Steel Rims"
link is
eBay Motors: '07 Up Honda CR-V Chrome Skins for 17" Steel Rims (item 190207604592 end time Apr-17-08 09:08:25 PDT) (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190207604592&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:MOTORS:1123)
How is the quality? Are they easy to get stolen? (Or are they to cheap where nobody wants to steal them?) The picture sure looks good. However, how it looks installed could be a different story.

Here's the link.....
Lakeshore Wheel & Tire - Product » 2007 Honda CRV 17 Inch Chrome Wheel Skin... (http://www.lakeshorewheelandtire.com/store/index.php?action=item&id=2737&prevaction=category&previd=18&prevstart=0)
I heard they are easy to install. Which could be a problem, because then they will be easy to steal.

I bought some of these for my 07 LX once I read this thread. http://www.crvownersclub.com/forums/t1859/ Sadly the pictures showing the wheel covers on the CRV have vanished. I did think they looked good, however.
I only installed one, then ended up taking it off after I noticed how much it scratched the wheel. Also the one I installed was very hard to remove. It may be difficult to remove if you had a flat. I am still trying to decide whether to install them. Hope this helps.

they're kinda hard to put on and remove when new, but it gets easier after it's been on a while. yes it does scratch the paint on the rims but you can easily touch them up with paint, should u decide to remove the skins.
the holes are big enough to accomodate the tire wrench so you dont need to remove the skins when you need to remove the wheels.
some people dont like it. some do. it really looks nice when the car color is dark. i chose the skins mainly coz of the TPMS and budget. didnt have the budget to get mags at the time and i didnt wanna take the risk of removing the TPMS sensors and install on new set of wheels and have TPMS issues
quality is excellent imo. i've had mine on since nov. or dec. last year. as far as getting stolen, they're basically chrome hub caps so not many people would be interested with them - i think. to remove them, u definitely need a big fat screwdriver so it's not that easy to remove/get stolen. :D
from afar, they look like oem honda chrome mags. for me, i really like them.
here is mine:

if you get lotsa rain/snow in your area, u may wanna wash them frequently and wax them at least once a month or so.
we get lots of rain in my area and so i dont get to wash the car as much as i want to. each time i wash, i use Plastx to clean/polish it and i apply a coating of wax. i find that the brake dust sticks to the skins and turns into this yellowish color. brake dust dont stick as much when u have a coat of wax.

Thanks for the info on waxing. I will keep that in mind. We don't get snow here as I am in Alabama. We do get plenty of rain at times so that is good to know. I have attached two pics one showing my freshly washed V without the wheel skins and one with them installed. Like the color of your V BTW!
