Well basically my mom purchased her car new back in 1998 its a CRV ex
I need to clear up these codes.. P0420 and P1362
I had autozone pull the codes for me and this is what i got..

P0420: The PCM has determined that the catalyst system efficiency for bank 1 is below threshold for the current engine operation condition. (bank 1 identifies the location of cylinder #1. While bank 2 identifies the cylinders on the opposite bank)

P1362: No signal in the TDC 1 Sensor circuit
Probable cause

1. Open or short circuit condition.
2. Poor electrical connection.
3. Failed TDC sensor.

Basically with the second cold (P1362) I found a bad fuse that controlled the cigarette lighter plug. I dont know if that code was because of this blown fuse?

Can someone please help me.

Here is some dope on your OBD P0420: OBD-II Trouble Code: P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1) (http://www.obd-codes.com/p0420)

Your P1362 code probably indicates a failed Top Dead Center (TDC) sensor. I'm not sure where that sensor is but in other Hondas of the same vintage, the sensor was located in the distributor. I researched this but can not find distributor diagrams detailed enough to be sure it is there on a 98 CR-V. If it is in the distributor, the entire distributor will need to be replaced. That's the way it was on other Hondas and this may be why I can't find the sensor listed separately.

A trick from days of old that might help, is to disconnect the distributor from the engine harness at the connector. Reconnect it and if the car then starts (this assumes that the car won't start/sensor failed), you probably have a TDC sensor on the way out.

Maybe some other members with direct Gen 1 experience will chime in here. :)
