I have an 06 CRV with Bridgestone tires and when getting out of the car I get the worst static shock of any car I have ever owned. Does anyone know of a solution. I've read that some tires produce more static charge than others.

I know there is info about how it is possible for the tires to cause the car to developed a charge, but the most common cause is you generating the charge as the fabric of your cloths slides against the fabric seats as you enter or exit the vehicle.
I used to get zapped something awful when getting out of my wife's car, then we had the seats redone in leather and no more getting electrocuted each time I get out. The cheaper solution that we used for years with the fabric seats is just to wipe the cloth surface down with a fabric softner drier sheet. That would kill the sparks for a couple of weeks generally. It worked as good as the static guard sprays.
Honda has a very detailed bulletin about it from way back:

they do mention that it can be the car generating it but as they say when you hear hoof beats, think horses, not zebras :)
