Does anyone have a thought on cold aire intakes? Does it give more hp+? If they are worthy....any brand beeter than others? Any installation concerns?

I don't believe anyone really makes a CAI designed specifically for the G2 CR-V. If you find a no name one on eBay it will be junk.

I have an SRI on my G2 and I don't think I really gained any power but it does sound a lot better.

Check this thread out, I did a quick write up:
G2 K&N Typhoon Short Ram Intake - HondaSUV Forums - Discussion forum and bulletin board for Honda CR-V, CRV, Element, Pilot, HR-V owners (http://www.hondasuv.com/members/showthread.php?t=31402)

Try looking around THIS forum first. Use the search function and look for "K&N" or "K&N filters". You will find plenty of information and references/links to outside information. The info here is just as good and just as complete as any other forum.

Ummm, okay?

There is nothing wrong with looking elsewhere for information and it is probably a good idea to do exactly that. The OP is not locked to this forum, and this forum only. That is like saying “Shop only at Wal-Mart because it has everything you need, why go elsewhere?”.

I merely suggested he look at a thread that I posted for more information on the K&N Typhoon SRI. I do not see a problem with posting a link to a related subject just because it is from a different forum.

The information is here on this forum. Why should we ask someone to go to another forum?

Search terms: "Cold air intake"

Results:
CR-V OC: 13
hondasuv.com: 140

I am not trying to start a war of which is better. I am just pointing out the fact that you should never go to just one source for information, if we did that everyone would be educated by wikipedia.

I believe he mentioned to look around this forum first because..

1. He was already here
2. The info is here and not there...

Cold Air Intakes - Honda opinion (http://www.crvownersclub.com/forums/t2853/)

I have put about 200,000 (combined) miles on vehicles equipped with an intake running a K&N cone filter. I have never had a single problem, ever.

Wow!
1. I came to this forum becuase I have a 2006 CR-V.
2. I read thru the forum first looking for answers.
3. I didn't find an answer to my question.
4. I posted a new thread.

If I can't find the answer I'm looking for on a subject.....chances are someone else can't either. So can we get back to the matter at hand?

My/our sincere apologies for involving you in our exchange on forum etiquette.:o

The reference given in post #7 by "2RedV's" is probably the best because it is "thoughts" direct from Honda.

You may wish to take a look at: ISO 5011 Duramax Air Filter Test Report (http://home.stny.rr.com/jbplock/ISO5011/SPICER.htm)

There are additional threads on the forum as well. I picked a brief sampling.

Thanks for the great info! I'm just looking to squeeze all the hp I can out of this motor.

Also, I don't give credit to honda's opinions. I had an Acura Integra GSR (bad A$$), I ran a header ,cold air intake and SS cat back exhaust......with noticable hp increase and never had a problem. I also used redline and amsoil fluids.....again not a problem. You really have to do your homework though and remember that honda wants you to use their products.
