View Full Version : Mazda RX7
I drove my oldest daughter's RX7 around San Diego this past week. It has a turbo and is more fun on the freeways than my CRV but is noisier, has looser steering, doesn't break as well or ride as smoothly, and overall is a less refined car than the CRV.
I'm trying to talk my daughter into getting a CRV but she loves the turbo on the RX7. Can't say I blame her but Im keeping my V.
Happy Motoring

In the preceeding post I said the Mazda doesn't "break" as well as the CRV. Of course I meant to say the Mazda doesn't "brake" as wall as the CRV.
Actually the Mazda probably does break better than the CRV but then its not a Honda.

If she ever wants to sell it, I live in SD. Let me know:)
I apologize for another error in the preceding post. I swear I was sober when I typed it. Must be time to adjust my meds again.
Anyway, my daughters car is a 2008 Mazda CX7, not a RX7. I wish she had an RX7. I would try to talk her out it.

Oh man... I was gonna say...
First gen RX-7's are my favorite car EVER. I don't know why, I just love them.

Not to be a traitor to the CRV forum, but ditto on that, Kann.
Ever since they came out, I've wanted an RX7.
But now I'm more mature and sensible, so I like my refined, luxury-laden CRV just fine. ;)
Actually, it's the best car I've ever owned - seriously, the first car I have ever been emotionally attached to.
I even had a dream about it last night...
(I think I need therapy  )

My brother and sister-in-law have a Mazdaspeed 3. Nice car, but highly uncomfortable seats for me. The car is a blast though, and my brother (and sister-in-law) both have heavy lead foots. Almost cast iron, actually. Sad thing is they have two boys who are growing FAST and in my family the men tend to be built big. The back seat is already getting cramped for the seven year old.
I looked at all of the mid and compact sized SUVs online, and the ones I was more serious about in person. The CX7 was priced a bit higher then the others (up there with Subaru, higher then the RAV-4) and didn't get as good of mileage as the others. The CR-V, as both my parents and I found out, was the best bargain for the buck. Comparably equipped the CR-V has more standard features then even it's closest competitor the RAV-4.
Using my small notebook on the road. Maybe more typos than normal.
X-Brawn I agree with you. I think the CRV EX is the best SUV under $25K period. It beats them all for looks, quality, comfort, safety, gas mileage, ride handling etc etc.
A friend of mine is putting off buying a CRV pending introduction of a new crossover that Toyota is building. Actually I hope it's a great car but they will have to do a lot better than the Rav4 to beat the CRV.

ANOTHER crossover? Why? They have the Matrix and plenty of other models to choose from. I bet it would be based off of the Matrix/Corolla or Camry/Highlander platforms.
