As mentioned earlier (http://http://www.crvownersclub.com/forums/t3114/), I am a member of a national Chevy Avalanche (http://http://www.chevyavalanchefanclub.com/index.html) owners club.

We had a very simple and effective way to show we were part of the club. We would switch out the white Daytime Running Lights with amber ones.

Very easy to spot a fellow club member on the road.

Do you guys have any way to signify you're a part of the club?

tattooed high on our left butt cheek and the Honda H on the right, then walk about with low rider pants. It does have its problems. I got arrested for excessive plumber's smile. Nah!

You can tell us by the moans from our rear differentials?

T-Mac has some CRV-OC decals every now and again. Other than that we remain a secretive bunch.

Oh Crap, I thought the CRV-OC went on the right butt cheek...

I'm sure you said right butt cheek.

I think the whistling A/C is another tip off. :)

I have the advanced secret decoder receiver built right into the vehicle. The rings were notorious for dropped transmissions. My secret decoder receiver spelled out

Hey maybe GoGreen can find a fire sale on some of those cheesehead hats they have in America's dairyland, and we can get them modified to CRV-OC use.

Below is a photo of the Secret Decoder Receiver in the midst of a secret transmission from club headquarters.

I'm thinking everyone will want one of these, so we will need to figure out how we will manage the demand. :D

Holy cow! 15% oil life????

When the oil life gets to 15% it is time to make plans for changing the oil and having any other services performed. The yellow wrench icon will illuminate on the instrument panel (upper right corner top photo) and the oil life and maintenance code (red arrow top photo) will be displayed in the maintenance minder.

The code displayed below was for my second oil change. The oil life got to 15% at 15770 miles. The displayed code is B 1 6. That is telling me that I need to have the services in maintenance schedule B performed as well as subcode 1 and subcode 6. These codes are found on page 263 of the 2007 owners manual:

https://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/pubs/om/9B0707/9B0707O00262A.pdf

or page 284 of the 2008 manual (the 2008 manual is unlinked so the file is over 8 MB --not a casual down load for dial up).

https://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/pubs/om/AWA080/AWA0808OM.pdf

So in this case the maintenance minder is telling me:

B Change the oil and oil filter and perform a whole bunch of inspections: brakes, exhaust, fuel system, front suspension, parking brake adjustment, etc.

1 Rotate tires.

6 Change the rear differential fluid.

These services should be done before it gets to 0%. The maintenance minder moves in 10% increments until 20% then it moves in 5% increments down to 0%. So you will not see 85% or 12% displayed. Once the maintenance minder gets to 0%, it will read negative mileage past 10 miles. This is probably not doing your warranty any favors so get it taken care of prior to reaching 0%.

(The computer stores all sorts of secrets about you--never do your taxes while driving--the IRS will subpoena Honda to figure out how you cheated as well as how fast you were going and if you had your seat belt on when you got into that accident. Well the accident part is true!)

The thing to remember is that at 15%, you still have a good bit of mileage before the service must be performed. You don't have to be like me and immediately run out and buy oil and get it changed. Most people are getting to 15% oil life between 7,000 to 9,000 miles. Even at 5000 miles for 15%, you would still have 880 miles before getting to 0%. You do have to remember after the first oil change the percentage is based on the mileage since the last reset not the total indicated mileage. (So no! You won't have 15,000 miles to make that appointment when you get to 100,000 on the odometer).

After the oil is changed and all the required service are performed, the maintenance minder is reset and the oil life reads 100% again (lower photo).

If you do this your self, the instructions for resetting the maintenance minder are in your owner's manual. It always takes me a few attempts before it resets.

Well, my wife says no more tattoos, so I guess I'm gonna have to put my name in for one of those stickers when more come in...

Thanks for the interest and support guys! We have a bunch being shipped out to some members now and we will be getting more stock in 1-2 weeks. At that time, we'll put them online for sale at a nice price.

What? ...the cheesy hats?... or cheesy stickers? :p ;)

I'll likely take 2 in either case...
