Hello Everybody,
I just bought a 2008 Honda CR-V and want to make some upgrades to the engine.
The first thing I want to do is add a turbo. I found this kit on ebay and was wondering if anybody has installed it yet:
eBay Motors: B Series Turbo Kit B16 B18 B20 Honda Acura Civic CRV (item 150248043068 end time May-22-08 19:23:56 PDT) (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/B-Series-Turbo-Kit-B16-B18-B20-Honda-Acura-Civic-CRV_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33742QQihZ005QQitem Z150248043068QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW)
Here are some of my concerns:
1. Would the automatic transmission withstand the increase in power?
2. Would I have to make any changes to the car computer (reprogram it)?
3. What else would I have to change?
Has anybody installed an aftermarket turbo kit? Where can I buy one and where can I find some information on installation.
Thanks for the help

Like the link title says, the kit is for "B" series engines. Your 2008 V has a "K" series engine (K24Z1). There are no turbo kits available for Gen 3 CR-Vs yet and not likely for a while yet.

You should stay away from the cheap kits on ebay. Check with Garrett or Turbonetics and see if/when they'll have a turbo for your application. Since you've got a late model CRV you may also want to check out King Motorsports Unlimited, Inc. (http://www.KingMotorsports.com)

That is a junk eBay kit.
There are no "kits" specifically made for the G2 or G3 CR-V.

That's right, there are no kits yet, but give it some time and something will pop out...

GTCB-Chris,
There is one turbo kit that I know of that will work with the one for the b20 engine on the V. It was orriginally for the B18 Integra but supposedly it is difficult to hook up. And your V is a b20z

not to be rude, but an 08 crv doesn't have a b20 it has a k24. So your kit for the teg will not work.

The kit is gonna have to be from a RS-X...

I was answering GTCB-chris' question:D
there is a thread on the HONDA SUV forum about a turbo kit for the gen. 1 I think that is where I saw it but supposedly the fan or the blower is small I don't remember all the details:p.
There is a turbo that will fit the gen. 1

Can you provide a link?
If you want to go fast, and bought a CR-V, you bought the wrong vehicle....

SleekSilver,
Isn't it more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow?:D

Yes, but it would have been more cost efficent to buy a faster vehicle right out of the gate. Maybe an RDX would have fit the bill better?
