My wife just bought an 08 EX in white a couple of weeks ago after being a long time Pilot owner (she had an 03 & an 06)... So far, she's really liking the V as it feels and drives like her previous vehicles...
We're not gonna mess w/ the truck a whole lot other than the installation of a Sirius package in it. I really didn't like the look of the add-on radio (I've seen about all of the Sirius and XM mounts for this vehicle), so we bought a factory EX-L radio (w/XM capability) off of ebay to install in the truck along w/ the Honda/Sirius modules... It should make for a factory looking install except for the antenna.... Anyway, we'll probably put the factory radio up for sale if anyone w/an LX is interested....

Wow! No responses at all! I thought this was a welcome thread. You guys are making me feel real at home around here...
Sorry no one has welcomed you yet. This is actually a very friendly forum. There are several members who usually welcome new members--maybe you slipped in under their radar.
This is a very helpful forum too with knowledgeable and enthusiastic CRV owners from all over the world. I learn something useful almost every time I visit.
Hope you hang in there.

Welcome to the forum and congratulation on your new CR-V. I bought mine with the XM radio and am very happy with it. Since I don't drive the CR-V often, the XM radio is used only on long distance. I may have to reconsider when the time comes for renewal. Sometimes I wonder if it is simply waste.

Thanks for the replies...
As to whether XM is a waste of money or not really is up to you. My wife's commute is ~45min one way and she's not real crazy about the local radio stations....She had XM in her last Pilot and really liked it. Like it or not, my car already had Sirius in it so we were paying for two subscriptions...both XM and Sirius. This time we're just going to add a radio on my existing account which will be a lot cheaper than the individual accounts.
This site actually has given me the idea to do what I'm going to attempt this weekend. All of the packages arrived yesterday, so I'm hoping to start a new thread in the mobile electronics portion of site that'll document the install.

Just kidding. I usually try to give a welcome to everyone, I read your post at some point because I remember your wife owning the Pilot, but some how missed the reply. Please accept my apologies.

Sorry for the belated welcome, but welcome aboard!
I test drove my parents' CR-V during their buying process and I really liked it. Actually loved it. I had just bought a Honda Ridgeline last year (in 2007) and loved having such an awesome truck but never really "loved" my truck, nor did I enjoy the 16-17MPG average MPG. I decided to take the "loss" and trade in my Ridgeline. I don't regret the move one bit.
