6 speed CRV - What years?

I am thinking about getting a CRV. I would like a manual transmission that I woudl convert to a 6 speed. What years accomodate this mod? I will buy an older one, probably a first gen.

Any of the manual G2s can be converted to a six speed using all OEM Honda parts and the original transmission.

I am looking for a first gen 2WD CR-V. WHen I find one I woudl like to convert it to a 6 speed. If I find a good deal on a 2nd gen 2WD CR-V I'll get it and do the 6 speed conversion. That's why I woudl like to know exactly what years are possible to convert.

First Generation Vs can NOT be converted. 2002 - 2006 (Gen 2 and 2.5) CR-Vs are the years that are convertible to 6 speeds.

why would you want a 6 speed gen 1 crv anyway. Hell if I could have my old honda drag car a 4 speed that would have been perfect! :D

there is a reason for that quote "four on the floor" and i agree with illegal, id much rather have a four then a six, i have a 2001 nissan frontier 4X4 with a five speed and it was a bitchhhh

In my opineon it is more fun to drive a six speed than a five or four speed. Its more work but more fun too. Although my V is a 4AT but I love to drive my dads six speed 05 RX-8.
