Another Remote Start Question....

Hello all. My wife and I have a '98 LX (her daily commuter). She would like to add a Viper 571XV. Yes, I used "search" but did not find an answer to my specific questions:

1) Has anyone here installed one on a 98-01? Any problems/headaches?

2) It does not appear that I need a bypass module. Am I correct?


I have installed a Viper 5900SST on my Ford, but am not as familiar with her Honda's "guts". Is there any specific insight anyone here can give, as it's a given that you probably know more about these trucklets than I do?

The 571XV is fine. I had it in my 2002 4Runner and no problem for the last 6 years. Now I have 791XV on my wife's 08 CRV and my 06 Toyota Tacoma (3 years without any problem). If you don't have the immobilzer, you don't need the bypass module.
I think 571XV and 791XV are discontinued, the new model is 5900, essential same as 791XV with better range.

BTW all, just wanted to share what I have done to the car so far:
2008 White CRV LX AWD
17x7 Sport Edition D5 wheels from the Tire Rack ( retain LX TPMS sensors with strap Kit, installed at America Tire)
Viper 791XV Remote start
PIAA Xtreme white plus H4 (headlights)
Genuine Factory Fog lights
5% tint rear 5 windows and 70% tint front tow
Roof Bars
Front mud guards
RubberTite Cargo Liners

Total amount invested $24K (including the CRV) . So I am essential buying an EX without the Sunroof, which my wife doesn't use anyway.
