Hey i was a huge fan of champcar before they went bankrupt. indy does not make enough right hand turns (i bet that with my driving skillz i would crash the car as many times as Marco). anyway i am heading up to the sonoma race in NOCAL this weekend i am leaving right after i get out of class on friday 9am to head up there.

PS infineon raceway is the greatest placy ever built next to disneyland.

Awesome! Hope you enjoyed the race and got to see Helio win. I have to say that on TV this was one of the most boring races I've seen in recent memory, but it's a different experience actually being there. Lots of people hated the Nashville race, but I had a blast... albeit a little soggy.

ya it was cool to see helio win. it is good to see him back in the pionts for the champeonship if he wins this will be the greatest upset this year. his or Ryan's transport caught fire when they were leaving the track from the preveius track. i really came from champcar and i wanted to see Will Power or Oriol Servia win and they were consistant all weekend.

Will Power ended up getting that stupid penalty for skipping the same corner THREE TIMES, so that kinda ended his day. He might have gotten back in the hunt with some cautions. Lots of teams were hosed on their strategies by the lack of cautions.

It was the Penske hauler that caught fire. It actually had both Helio's and Briscoe's primary cars in it! Luckily they already had backup cars at the track from the open test session last weekend. Crazy.

I was never a split fan. I'll admit that I did watch the IRL a bit more closely than Champ Car, but I still loved them both. Now all we need is PT in a permanent ride and next season might be interesting! :D

PT is an awsome driver he could rack in more money for Sarah Fisher. i think that Alex Tagliani should come back also because the second year at San Jose PT weaked Tag's car and Tag went over to talk to PT and started fighting him. PT is such a big guy compared to other open wheel drivers and he threw Tag on the ground. i really watched champcar for about a year and a half and my thought is that Champs wasted their money frying to other countries. IRL is still very fun to watch.

Still F1 is the best open wheel series and i hope that Lewis Hamilton wins this year.

PS there must be more IRL fans out there.

i also forgot to menchion that in the last few laps Will Power wemt off track trying to pass people on the turn 9 (i think that it is 9 that is what turn it is for nascar but the change the track a little) and he drove right through the tire barrier he also did this in San Jose because his breaks failed and he crashed into the tirewall at the hairpin at 120mph i think during practice. my father and i saw him in the grage after the incident in san jose and we talked to him for a while.

PS not much happened during this race and it was won more on pit strategy than anything else.

He drove "around" the tire barriers, or actually went into them? He got his penalty for driving around/through the barriers blocking the corners and not stopping several times. Almost strategy! :D

I'm not a HUGE F1 fan, but I watch when it's on and not conflicting with something else I want to watch more (Like IRL or MotoGP). I'm just getting more and more bored with races won not on the track, but by pit strategy. Hell, in F1 it seems that there has been more action and passing (and crashing) IN the pits than on the track this year! :P

Hamilton Crashed pretty bad in the pits into the Back of Räikkönen's car because it was yellow and they could not leave the pits. and early in the year Timo Glock (He was Originaly from Champ Car) went a little off track lost control by sthe start finish line. there was a little hill off the track:eek: and his car hit it and he went flying about 3ft. in the air. how does that happed in Formula 1:confused:

I'm a pretty big fan of IRL because of all the Hondas but I like Formula 1 more

road racing i definatly mor exciting than ovals, but there is less passing on the road tracks.
