Any suggestions on a replacement Hood/Bug Guard for a 2005 CRV? Mine got broken in my latest accident (deer vs. CR-V) and I want to get a new one. The previous one was purchased through www.carbras.com, and although I really like it, I was wondering if there were any better ones out there?

Also, thinking about getting a sun/moon roof visor, is this realistic since I live in the NorthEast and we get snow alot? Is it a pain to clean snow off roof with it installed?

Thanks!

I have the WeatherTech Easy-On hood deflector and I highly recommend it. Uses existing holes under the hood and doesn't touch the surface of the hood.

They also make a sunroof deflector, but I don't have one, so can't vouch for it.

Beckey76,

I've got the Weathertech sunroof deflector and it works fine. In fact, I've compared to the Honda factory accessory and find that it is nearly an identical twin. Mounts the same way and seems to be fit the same.

I've also got the Weathertech "in channel" window shades and they are terrific as well....

Hood protectors are much different than bug deflectors. Hood protectors are pretty much worthless in preventing bugs from splatting your windshield but look much nicer. Bug deflectors tend to be more upright and taller in the application. I wish I could find a real bug deflector for my 99 V as I do a lot of country driving thru the summer months for work and I hate having to scrape them off daily. I am not so worried about the paint on the hood as I am the bugs on the windshield.

GTS MAkes a nice Bug deflector that has a lip up at the top to send the air flow over the roof line. It works very well. I was plagued with rock chips in my windshield ( Las Vegas freeways have a lot of dirt and small rocks from Construction trucks). For my 99' V I purchased a GTS Bug Shield off of eBay and have not had a rock hit my windshield yet. It looks nice, easy to install and works like a charm.

Looks great thanks, I think I need to order one of these.

For those of you who have bug guards, do you take the vehicle through an automatic car wash? It says in the directions for the weathertech stone and bug deflector that I should not use auto car wash's. Problem is, we have a great auto spa and I don't have the time or energy to hand wash my car.

What do you think?

I take mine off.....but it only takes 30 seconds to do. The thing to watch out for is the dryer when you are coming out. I have seen dryers in touchless car washes rip hood deflectors right off the car.

I have a GTS Bug deflector. I just leave mine on. I have been lucky so far but it does get tossed about pretty badly in the air drier.

I would recommend EGR.
Their superguard use the thickest plastic available. Most of them are NO drill, and they leave enough room between deflector and hood to get a rag behind to clean.

333954 is part number.

Just installed a stone/bug deflector I got from Weathertech, total cost of about $77.00 including shipping.

It was very easy to install. I didn't have a clip remover to properly remove 2 of the clips (I broke em off instead  )

You can fit your whole hands under the deflector for easy cleaning of the hood when needed.

Not a perfect fit, but one can hardly notice it. This is only noticeable from the front view (first picture) If you look closely the driver side is a bit off as compared to the passenger side in the photo.

Here is a closer look at what I meant about the deflector not being a perfect fit yet it's barely noticeable , unless you really look hard.

The top photo is the side that doesn't fit good, which is on the drivers side. I am still satisfied of the overall fit and look of the deflector.

I just got mine last Saturday also. You are right, there is a slight defect on the drivers side. Looks awesome though.

Strange...maybe there was a bad group of them. I have the exact same one on our 07 and this is not present.
