 I just bought my 2008 Honda CRV EX-L from a Miami dealer!! I think I got a good deal: $23,980 (including everything but taxes). What do you think?

Black Pearl 06-29-2008, 09:08 AM Welcome to the club and congratulations and good luck with your new V! On your deal, you did a hell of lot better than I did! Again welcome to the club and we will be looking forward to hearing about your experiences with the new V! I think you did extremely well with your CR-V. Congratulations and drive safely! Badgerland 06-29-2008, 01:08 PM It's great that you bought a new vehicle, we would LOVE to see photo's of interesting to your location and the CRV. While we can all tell you that you got a great deal, all that really matters is that YOU think you got a great deal! You bought a wonderful vehicle that will last you at least 100-150k miles so if you think long term...does it really matter what you paid as long as you enjoy it! ;) motorhomer 06-29-2008, 08:30 PM Congrats on the great price. However, to help others who haven't bought yet ... you MAY have gotten the great price 'cause of one or more of the following: (1) Your EX-L is a 2WD ... not 4WD; (2) IF you had a trade-in, they MAY have given you waaaaaay less than it was worth; (3) IF you insured or financed the EX-L with the selling dealership, you MAY be paying exorbitant rates; (4) I know that the reported price was apparently the bottom line price, but ... did you also pay extra for a so-called "extended warranty" (actually a service contract)? If so, you may have paid waaaay to much for it. On the other hand, you or a relative/friend might have purchased a vehicle at the same dealership so they actually did you a favor. One last thing ... a friend bought a new Saturn VUE for a GREAT price, but upon questioning him, I discovered that the VUE was actually a low-mileage "demonstrator" or so-called "executive car. In other words, he bought a USED car. curbany 07-01-2008, 08:22 PM I'm up in Lakeland. It was Black Pearl who told me that some people will get a better deal than you, some will do worse. So you got to figure, whatever...! As long as you are pleased with the deal you got & the vehicle you chose. I just bought mine on Saturday. Whistler Silver, EX, 2-WD. I found it to be more vehicle than the RAV-4, Rouge, EX-7 and Outlander (drove like a truck! & I'm a loyal Mitzu owner). One problem I'm struggling with is that I've always driven vehicles with horsepower or sports performance. As wonderful as my V is, it just doesn't hit that mark. I'm having a little trouble adjusting.... Actually, it's more comical than a real problem. I just feel awkard sitting it--period. My husband is still laughing at me. :-) Best of luck! MQuillen 07-02-2008, 08:59 AM All good points moterhomer. If we look at Lamky's deal and assume that it's a 2WD (Miami), that's only $366 above dealer net/net. By the time the dealer cleans the car $85, and gases it, $50, we're down to a wopping $231 dollars gross profit on the sale. Then we have to wonder, either Lamky is offering some services in trade ;-)) or it isn't an arm's length transaction, or maybe the Miami market really sucks and the dealer knows they've got a lot of 08's to move before September, in a very soft economy. It appears to have been an end of month transaction, maybe Lamky caught the dealer at the right time. ivicr 07-23-2008, 11:57 AM your price is right on. I bought mine in VA for the same. :D T Mac 07-23-2008, 11:59 AM Lamkey - congrats and welcome to the club. Glad to have you here! Drive safe. ellie77 07-24-2008, 11:40 AM Sounds good to me, but I'm not an expert negotiator! I would assume as well that the OP has a 2WD. I don't think 4WD is in high demand in snow-barren Florida. Trbolvr 08-08-2008, 03:56 PM Paid $23600 for mine last Saturday. Got book minus $100 (two dings...paintless dent repair...just what I expected) for our trade-in. Got a decent rate as well...4.94% for five years. Didn't do the extended warranty/service contract...why...we bought a Honda.:) Hunter10 10-19-2008, 07:28 PM Have been researching both Honda CRV and Rav4 for some time now. Drove my first CRV today and was impressed. I can buy a 2009 EX 4WD for $24,008, is that a decent price? Also, have read a lot of spreads about fuel mileage. What is realistic? And I don't have a lead foot, used to, am a retired trooper gary696 10-19-2008, 08:15 PM Have been researching both Honda CRV and Rav4 for some time now. Drove my first CRV today and was impressed.
