'Kay, so, 2005 CR-V...Nighthawk Black on Black Cloth Interior...

My mom made the mistake of letting our white English Bulldog in the cargo area...unprotected...and he shed white hairs EVERYWHERE...we're talking REALLY bad. Now, I've tried all forms of vacuuming...and lint rollers...nothing I do can get all of the hair out of the (surprise, surprise) cheap, ultra-short pile black carpet. It's plain impossible.

Alright...how do I say this.....

...Oh yeah... HELP!

Duct tape. Most lint rollers are worthless.

Generic duct tape? :D
We use it in both V's for the black lab's hair. Works well. Maybe cause the hair is longer, it weaves it's way thru the carpet fibers too much? Have you tried a comb? A friend says he's done that with his long-haired mutt.

Must not have used REAL Duct tape:p http://www.gorillatape.com/home.htm

Seriously...This looks promising and has a money back promise:

I've seen similar products used to protect new carpet after installation.
Good luck!

I always used a real stiff bristled brush and brushed the carpet. Seems to work very well.

That's a problem alright.

I now use a stiff scrub brush while vacuuming. It works, but is time consuming.

I have been experiencing the same problem since having mine as well. I have accepted defeat and am now in the market for some sort of seat cover that is "blonde" colored or gray as my dog, Lucy, is a blonde terrier.
Anyone know where I could find some good seat covers for an 06?

Whatever you end up getting, make sure they do not cover the side airbags!
BTW, there is a company that makes Hawaiian style seatcovers that does not cover the side airbags. The name escapes me right now though.

Why let the dog hair win, just get you a good brush if you live up north, I believe autozone has an ice scraper that has a brush on the back thats what I use and it works great.

I have an attachment for my Kirby that was made for getting hair out of carpet & it works very well. My Kirby is a pretty strong vac, though I think the attachment would work on other vacuum's too.

Since it had been a while since the last detailing there has been a considerable amount of build up and I've found that scratching the seat with your nails seems to work pretty well. From there just vaccuum the one spot you scraped all the hair into. This is the same principle as using a brush, which also works pretty well. The floor mats are even worse than the seats though. After sitting down with Lucy I decided only one course of action would actually work.

Don't you think that may be a bit extreme? I mean, it's not like its a cat.

Go for it!!!! (The clippers, I mean). I did that with my Sheltie and it was great. Now I have a German Shepherd...they don't just shed...they SHED AND SHED AND SHED. The way his hair falls out, I can't believe there's any left on his body. I have a plastic cargo mat, and that's where my dog is when he's in the car. The hair manages to get everywhere, and all over the back of the backseats.

My CRV is going to be detailed on Tuesday. Between my painting stuff for work, my 12 year old son and his friends and my dog, the poor guy has his work cut out for him.

Now why are you picking on cats? We have two of them and don't have any hair in the car. (Hair in the house? That is a different matter. Skin on our hands and arms when it is time to take the cats to vet? Another matter.) Besided you only have to kill the dog once, cats require 9 times the effort.

Well worth it if you're as allergic as I am. I have been around a lot of cats and where they seem to be interesting creatures. And they making breathing very difficult for me. I'd just as soon stay away from them all together.

The interesting thing about cats is that they seem to be relatively private animals, they just kind of keep to themselves, unlike dogs. Though when I'm around, cats seem to think I am all the more interesting because I am not interested in them in the least bit. I don't get it, they're skittish around normal people and when someone that is allergic shows up all they want to do is show affection. I'm sure not all cats are like this, just the ones I have been around

We have a brush that has rubber bristles the name on it is the “Pet Hair Eliminator”. By Solutia. It works great on furniture and carpet. I am not sure were we got it. But I think it was some were like Pet Smart. But you can find it on line.
