2000 manual trans gear change [Archive] - Honda CR-V Owners Club Forums

I am looking for info if anyone has it. I own a 00 CRV EX MT. I would like to change the fifth gear out for a higher ratio so the engine is not reving 3800 to 4000 RPM on the highway. I am an ASE Master Tech. I can do the work myself. I just don't know if there is a gear from Honda/Acura or another brand that will fit. If anyone has this info or can hook me up to someone who might please let me know. I love my CRV but I do a lot of highway driving. I would love to lower the RPM and the fuel consumption as well.

It really is not necessary to post the same question in multiple forums. All it does is confuse people and you do not get a response any faster.

Here is the same response I replied to you in the other post you made:

I have heard of Element and 2nd gen CR-V owners adding the 6th gear from an Acura (I believe that was it) but don't know if that is a possibility on the first gen's. It is supposedly quite easy to do.
