I never knew you are supposed to treat your leather seats. I use and interior cleaner (Eagle One Nano Interior Cleaner) but I don't know what to use on the leather seats, what is the best product out there for keeping leather seats in good condition?

Have no idea myself, but this was discussed last year in this thread:

Search our forum and you will probably find more threads regarding this. Also some of the car care manufacturers (Meguiars, Mothers etc) have forums also.

I think you will get as many answers as there are products out there. Find a good reputable company you trust other products with and then use there. One persons' great is another persons garbage...just like opinions! That said, I use Maguiers...:D

Hello,

They sound like good replies fellows.

For chainsaw's benefit, AND mine, are there any common offerings in particular we should avoid.

I am hinting about lanolin, or neatsfoot oil? stuff like that.

Thanks for any opinions to consider.

Lanolin, Connolly Hyde Food, all the stuff sold for traditional leather interiors (think 60's Jaguars...ummmm) is wrong for modern leather. (Makes your skin soft and supple after application, though.) ;)

Reason being, modern car interiors have a clear-coat over the leather. This is GREAT for durability but requires different products to maintain.

As noted, there are different products available, try reading the various detailing forums and decide for yourself. That said, our 10-year-old Acura has been holding up fine with bi-yearly applications of Lexol leather cleaner.

Good stuff Carbuff.
That helps me out personally. A buddy passed me a jar of self made lanolin/neatsfoot combination to try out. I hesitated till I had time to do a little research. Fortunately chainsaw's thread has probably saved me from some problems.

Thank you all,

I was a Lexol person for eyars, then the local leather shop turned me onto Leather CPR, and I am old. It does nto leave a residue like Lexol did and it is aone stpe cleaner conditioner. I do find I probably condition it more than with Lexol, but it really brings back the leather nicely.
