Dear Honda,
Please reconfigure the 12 volt cigarette lighter adapter so that it still provides power when the key is out of the ignition. It is a pain in the butt that I cannot leave my cell phone charging when the key is out of the ignition! At least put in a swtich that allows this to be controlled. i know I am not the only CR-V owner who gripes about this...
Yes, a constant "hot" outlet would be convenient.

Is there any way to change the lighter to be "hot" on your own?

I thought I remembered a thread about somebody making a jumper installed near the fuse box that would keep the 12v outlet permanently on. However, I couldn't find it. I might be confused with a similar post in the Ridgeline forums.

you could just get a fuse tap and find a constant hot, thats how i have my emergency strobes and driving lights hooked up, has been working for 3 years.

Dear Honda,
Please do not make the front power point stay on all the time. I had a car like this once. When you leave your charger plugged in overnight and come back to find your car won't start because the battery has been fully discharged, it is at that point where you realize what a terrible idea it is.
~Sorry to argue the point, but I have personal experience with this.

^^ My feeling exactly.
When I turn my ignition off, I want everything to be OFF.
(If I want a phone charged, I do it in the house on AC.)
