I am not able to run the power outlets unless the ignition is on. I would at least like to use one of the front and back if possible for like cell phones or other.
Is it possible to mod this so they will work all the time, without screwing witht the manufacturers warranty?
Thanks in advance
Kenny

You can run custom wires for yourself. I do this all the time with speakers and accessory outlets when I buy a new vehicle. It allows you to switch the car back to stock and perfectly normal within a single afternoon. You can either run your own wires up to the fuse box to an empty source or something that is on all the time, like the dome lights or something. One thing I did was use the dome light switch to control a circuit as well as the dome light. That was milennia ago, and I don't recommend it with a newer car. There are a few ways t odo it. But all of them probably void your waranty unless you have Honda figure it out, which I'm pretty sure they won't do that for you.

EASIEST would be to buy a kit from Radio shack and have it wired directly to the battery. If an issue arises you only need to disconnect it from the battery and pull it back through the firewall.

You don't want that much amerage going to your outlet devices. It needs to go through the fuse box first, plug the kit in behind the fuse box on one of the accesories taht is always on, use your imagination. plugging such small amp rated wires into the battery directly, will, if not maybe cause a fire. I'm not kidding. One of my first cars had a fire wire because I thought it would be okay to run really tiny wires and just aligator clamp them onto the battery. Don't do that.

Plus, if you take it in for service anywhere, the mechanic will not know waht it is and assume it's the problem with your car, and they will disconnect it.

splice an inline fuse into it. Many of the after market ones will have a 5 or 10 amp fuse.
If your mechanic automatically goes to that and says it's the problem, you should find another mechanic.

And that I did. I told him to give me back the keys right after that and I left.
