I posted in another thread that I just got my new CR-V a few days ago. I just wanted to post an interesting comment here.

Many people I work with, who became aware of my recent purchase, made the comment, "Good choice." Even people who don't currently own a Honda made the comment. Nobody has ever made the "good choice" comment to me on any other vehicle I've owned. And such a comment from other people only adds to the new-car excitement. I'm smiling ear to ear.

What have I been waiting for all these years???

I brought my car into work the 1st time today and everyone was saying how beautiful it is and what a good choice I made. I also must smile ear to ear :D

Maybe some people think it sounds hokey to get so excited over a vehicle, but I don't think so. I've never been so excited over a vehicle in my life until now.

Some people say, "A car is just a machine" or "A car is nothing more than a big bucket of bolts and wires." I disagree. A new automobile is usually the second biggest investment a person makes, a house being the first. (At least that applies to middle class grunts like me.) So why not get excited?

I am in full agreement with you. In our troubled times, I think it is important to celebrate significant events in our lives including the purchase of a new car. Being able to enjoy these moments lifts up our spirit and we can share our happiness with others even if it is just for a few minutes. Enjoy and keep smiling.

GREAT!! You've got a double excitement factor: a first new car is always a thrill, and to boot, it's a fine, fine vehicle.

(I wonder if anyone whose first new car was a Yugo got excited.... I shouldn't knock it, I didn't know much about it :D )

I am so excited about my CRV as well! People actually make fun of me at work because I take SUCH good care of it. I park about 5 miles away - LOL! I couldn't be happier with this car. I had a Prelude for 9 years and loved that, too. I hated to see it go, but when I see my CRV it makes it all better!

Welcome to the club and glad to hear that you like your V! I do the same in parking lots. So far no dings, but, well it is inevitable. I always tell my wife that we will be trekking for 5 years or 5 dings which ever comes first.

Again welcome to the club, good luck with the V, and we will be looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks! I will definitely be on a lot. Glad you don't have any dings, either! Let's hope we can keep it that way!
