I recieved my hitch two days ago from etrailer.com. I got it within a week. I took some pictures of what I recieved. You be the judge. I am still working on my picture taking skills. :)

Sorry you are having troubles with your hitch. Did the unit get damaged in transit, or was it bad from the factory? The carrier may be responsible if it was transit damage.

Welcome to the club and good luck with your hitch, let us know how you make out.

When I received my Curt hitch from eTrailer there was a gouge on the receiver box (though the shipping container was not torn or gouged) and a little bit of paint sprayed on tip of one of the labels. Mine probably did not leave the Curt plant in pristine condition but I'm not too concerned about it.

But yours looks like it was beat up quite a bit in shipping. Your hitch is probably still sound but it is beat up enough that you could probably ask eHitch for another. Wouldn't hurt to ask.

Good Luck

I just received my Class III Hidden Hitch from eTrailer last week. The box was really torn up, but the hitch was in fine condition. No paint was chipped off or anything, definitely not like yours.

Mine almost seemed like the box was too small for the hitch. Luckily everything was ok.

My hitch came in 2 days, Chicago area, carton was damaged but hitch was OK. A few scratches but they will not hinder product or show once installed. Very heavy product to package. Shipping was free.

Most important, this is not an etrailer issue. They boxed it, but they arent going to add excess packing for a solid steel weldment to protect a little paint on the edges. Unless yoy want them to charge you $50 to ship the hitch, I see no problem with what you got.

The "damage" shown is perfectly acceptable for a hitch that has been shipped. Again, your lucky it can in a box, some larger installers get theirs loose, with loose items taped to the hitch. You should see how those get scraped up.

Remember it is a trailer hitch, your not going to see those scrapes one installed. If it bugs you that much, buy a $3 can of paint, and the issue is over.

RinconVTR if I were puting somthing on my lawn mower I would not mind if it was scratched but putting somthing on a new $20k car I would rather it not have it be scratched. Just my personality I guess. I like to make my own scratches.

To everyone, I put in the trailer wiring I got from etrailer and it was easy thnx to Garybarts post. Everything is working with it as advertised.

Thats fine and dandy, really. And like I said, a $3 can of paint will take care of the issue if it bugs you.

My point was this is not an eTrailer issue at all, and I dont think that is how you read my post. They in fact package items very well considering what we're buying and paying.

I feel its very unfair to report this as a bad eTrailer expericance when you'd get the same scratches (if not more) buying cash & carry locally.
